Lightweight and compact heat proof mat, essential for floor protection in your bell tent and a perfect compliment for the Life Under Canvas Stove and flashing kit.

In stock (can be backordered)

This PVC mat with non woven fabric top and silica gel pad is the perfect protection from heat from your groundsheet.

Put it on top of the groundsheet and under your stove with the silicone section under the hottest part of the stove. The silicone protects the groundsheet from heat and the mat prevents stray sparks, embers and ash from landing on and damaging the groundsheet.

Please note you will need to purchase 2 of our heat proof mats to fit under our Stove with Oven.

White Silica Gel – max temperature: 300°C. Black Polyethylene mat – max temperature: 250°C

We recommend using a stove thermometer when using your bell tent stove.  This is a great way to indicate how hot your stove is and will stop it reaching temperatures that could potentially damage your flashing kit or heat proof mat.

Bell Tent Stoves

All Life Under Canvas stoves are suitable for use in any of our fire retardant bell tents with stove hole.

Due to its smaller structure, our mini stove is the perfect size for our 4m bell tent.  Please note that we do not recommend the use of a stove simultaneously with an inner tent in our 4m Bell Tent.

We usually receive our stock for the season by early March. Please contact us for the exact date for the item you are interested in.

We stock many different spare parts and extras, including tent & awning poles, rain caps, mallets, guys and peg sets.  Please have a look at our spares page for more details – Spares

We also stock spare swatches of fabric, elastic toggles, stove glass, flue pieces, springs for poles & more, so if you don’t see what you need please don’t hesitate to contact us.

For the secure use of a stove inside your tent, it is essential to use a flashing kit.  This kit ensures the flue pipe is properly fastened to the canvas.  It consists of a heat-resistant silicone opening which enables the flue pipe to pass through the roof of the tent safely, allowing the smoke and fumes from the stove to dissipate into the open air.

You will also need a heat proof mat to protect your groundsheet from any sparks that might fly out of your stove.

We recommend lighting it at a low temperature, either outside the tent or inside when you are not in there. This allows any fumes from manufacturing to be removed off before use.
